A Short Breaks Showcase

On: Wednesday 7 December

Time: 10.00am-12.30 pm

Venue: Our Lady & St Peter Church Hall, Copthorne Road, Leatherhead, KT 22 7EZ

Hear what we’ve found out about the future of Short Breaks for disabled children in Surrey

Hear what’s happened to the feedback that children and young people, families, providers and people working with disabled children and families gave Surrey County Council and Family Voice Surrey.

Find out what outcomes families, children and young people want to see from the future Short Breaks Offer in Surrey.

Discuss our proposed response to the priorities set by disabled children and young people and their families—we are now looking to turn some of the creative ideas into a Short Breaks offer that meets a wide range of needs with the money available.

Meet others and keep the important conversation going ….

Short breaks are an essential part of the support provided to families of disabled children and young people and have positive benefits for both children and their parents and carers.

Short breaks help children and young people to:

  •        spend time away from their parents and carers
  •        relax and have fun with their friends
  •        develop their independence
